KOJIRO 360 – The Philosophy of the Bikepacking World Tour
The name KOJIRO 360 embodies a journey that’s not just about cycling around the world—it’s about gaining new perspectives and embracing life fully. The acronym captures the core values and challenges of this adventure:
- Kindness – Showing kindness to people, nature, and yourself.
- Overcome Yourself – Break through your inner limits: fears, doubts, and comfort zones. Grow beyond what you thought possible and discover your true strength.
- Just Do It – Take the leap without hesitation, no matter how big the challenge may seem.
- Inspire – Be a source of inspiration for others to find and follow their own path.
- Rise and Grind – The daily dedication to keep going, no matter the obstacles. It’s about discipline and perseverance—every single day.
- Optimism – Always look forward with a smile and faith in the good.
The number 360 symbolizes not only the complete journey around the Earth but also the 360-degree view you experience on your bike. Cycling offers a constantly shifting perspective—a way to see the world from every angle and embrace the beauty of the adventure.
This tour is more than just cycling—it’s a way of life, putting Kindness & Karma at its heart.

The (not so) short story of how I ended up biking the world
Kindergarten days
My early years were a whirlwind of football (or should I say endless kicks with barely any goals) and causing chaos in the village.
Oh, and my dad started my cycling career early—on a tricycle.
The day I graduated to a “real bike” in elementary school? Mind-blowing. Freedom at last!
Middle school era
Still chasing football dreams and dabbling in martial arts, I ditched the tricycle and rode my brother’s Giant bike around the village like a champ.
The grown-up phase (kind of)
BMX and skateboarding entered my life thanks to Tony Hawk, Chad Muska, and Rodney Mullen—legends! I wasn’t pulling off 900s, but I sure felt cool.
I went for the trifecta: vocational diploma, apprenticeship, and work. Football and martial arts? Check.
But cycling? Totally forgotten. I was more into kicking and punching things than pedaling.
The wanderlust awakens
Then came my backpacking trip from Japan to New Zealand.
I managed a short cycling tour in Australia, but most of the time it was all about vans and public transport.
Still, it was the spark that would one day turn into full-blown wanderlust on two wheels.
Bachelor’s degree & bikepacking beginnings
While studying business, I took my first proper bikepacking tour along the Germany border.
Triathlon snuck into my routine along with gym and yoga sessions, but my karate training was slowly being benched. Cycling was beginning to take over.
Thanks, COVID (kind of)
Enter the pandemic, and suddenly I’m diving headfirst into running and cycling. I joined my first cycling club http://www.rsc-ruetenbrock.de (Shoutout to these fellas) and discovered my true love: road bikes. There was no turning back.
Work, ride, repeat
While working as a logistics consultant and project manager, I squeezed in multiple bikepacking tours.
But the more I traveled, the more I realized: the world is big, and I want to see all of it—preferably from the saddle of a bike.
Master’s degree, check! What’s next?
With my Master’s degree under my belt, it’s time to hit the road—literally!
The world is calling, and this time, I’m answering by bike. Here we go!
